of subject programs designed to allow students to test for college credit at
the conclusion of the course(s).

is recognized by the vast majority of colleges in the world.

structured and taught on a college level format.

requirements and expectations are more demanding than a similar high
school subject.

AP tests are given once a year in May.

Students may elect to take the exam.

Exam administered by a test site supervisor and not
the classroom teacher.

Students receive a score of 1-5.

Some
colleges accept scores of 3.

accept 4 or higher, but
none below 3

If a student passes, he/she will receive 3 college
credits at the institution they decide to attend.

Cost of the exam is $78.00 per student.

Test fee discounts for low income students.

AP courses can only be taught by teachers trained
in AP by the College Board.
