Dear Alumni of Schenck High School,

As many of you know, East Millinocket celebrated its centennial last summer. Along with many others, I went back. For me, it was only the second time in forty years. Our childhood town could not have provided a more welcoming homecoming. Immersing myself in that place and connecting with my earliest friends opened my heart right up!

After returning to my current home, I kept thinking about East Millinocket and listening to my wishes to stay connected. Because my husband works in the field of alumni relations, we began to play with the idea of supporting a Schenck High School Alumni Association. We sought feedback from others and were met with thoughtful and enthusiastic support. One result is this web page for SHS alums.

With this letter, I am asking for your help. Would you please enter information about yourself and ask your friends and relatives who went to SHS to do the same? For now, this information will be kept completely confidential and used only for SHS Alumni purposes. In the future, we hope to share more openly information about those who give us permission to do so.

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy this photo of Mt Katahdin. My husband took it last September while we toured an unusually calm Millinocket Lake. Looking at it puts me in touch with my deepest self. It connects me with my roots and all of you.
