Classroom Guidance Instruction
Regular classroom instruction is provided to help students make realistic and appropriate choices about high school programs of study, post secondary options, and career exploration. Classroom guidance lessons are based upon the following developmental goals:

To learn more about the guidance program and the role of the guidance counselor
Self and others
Decision making and problem solving
To understand individual characteristics, abilities, and interests
To recognize and respect the feelings, needs, and uniqueness of others
School success skills
To understand the decision making and problem solving process
To know when and how to ask for help
Career Awareness
To develop a positive attitude about school and learning
To learn how to set goals and priorities
Community pride and involvement
To understand and value the world of work
To understand the correlation between interests and abilities and occupations
To appreciate one's home, school, and community
To be a positive contributing member of the school and community
