MISSION STATEMENT

The School Committees of the Katahdin area are committed to creating safe and secure working environments. Teachers, parents and other adults serve as positive role models, advocate for active, self-directed student participation across the school communities and offer a variety of educational opportunities. Technology, fieldtrips, mentoring, and community exploration become some of the tools for implementing this diversified curriculum where all students feel a sense of belonging and accomplishment.

At 4:00 there will be a potluck supper for school board members, town councilors and selectmen
in the basement of the church

Coming from Millinocket turn left at the light (Maple Street) in East Millinocket, at the end of the street (facing Schenck High School) take a right and go to the end of North Street, the church is at the end of North Street on the left.

Workshops 5:00-7:00 PM

Alternative Organization Workshop (AOS) involving selectmen, town councilors and school boards with Mary Jane McCalmon as facilitator

  1. Ground rules- 15 minutes

  2. Overview of RSU/AOS

  3. Timelines to work in and ramifications

  4. List of required DOE elements

  5. List of committees needed and their charge and their membership

  6. Dates for future meetings

  7. Agenda development and chairperson
