"Rural Schools,
Working Together"

Drug Impairment Training for Educational Professionals (DITEP)

A regional educational partnership formed to help its member school units attain common goals by sharing resources in order to improve learning for students. The Partnership's area of concentration is in addressing the educational priorities in each member unit by providing high quality and affordable professional development opportunities.

The shift to an information-based society has put increasing pressure on our schools to educate more students to a higher level than ever before. At the same time, diminishing resources and the increasing complexity of education reform strategies make this task a difficult one, especially in small rural districts with limited staff and financial resources.

Partnership Goals

Partnership sponsored activities will focus on:

  1. promoting an ongoing dialogue for an understanding of the nature of the changes we desire in our schools.....being clear about the implicit and explicit values and beliefs that underlie those changes.
  2. the building of skills and access to information that will help transform educational practice in our schools, including both content and process skills, and skills in the use of technology.
  3. networking and information sharing activities that reduce the isolation of teachers and promote the sharing of resources across member districts.
