Student Council
The Student Council at Schenck High School is composed of elected homeroom representatives and four officers elected by these homeroom representatives. The council provides a forum for the students to discuss their concerns with one another. It is the goal of the council to represent every student at the school and to allow for two-way communication between the student body and administration. It is a place where students can assume as much of the responsibility of organizing as they are able to handle.
The council is responsible for the planning of a number of school activities, i.e., Winter Carnival, assemblies, peer mentor program, public service projects, and the student incentive program.
Students who have concerns or questions about school activities should contact their council representative from their homeroom. If it is a matter of school concern, the representative will take it before the entire council or one of its committees. The council may discuss the matter, send it to the proper committee, bring it to the attention of the proper school official or dismiss the questions.
